My Lord in Heaven,
Thank you for the blessing that is my son.
He is young, but one day he will be a man.
I humbly ask in your name that I be given the heart, the strength, and the will to mold him into a man of God.
I ask that I be given strength, so I can teach him to be strong.
I ask that I be made extra vigilant, so I can spot the dangers in his path.
I ask that I be given patience, so I can withstand the times that he will make mistakes or deviate from his path.
I ask that you enlarge my heart, so I will love him no matter what and love him greater than how much I already love him now.
I ask that you increase my knowledge and wisdom, so I can teach him the difference between the two and pass on my life’s experience.
I ask that you fortify my faith so that my son will see what a servant of God should do.
I know that I cannot always be there for him or protect him from every danger.
Therefore, I trust in you, my God, to protect him when I cannot.
And lastly, I ask that you cleanse my heart of worry and fear so that I do not hold my son back from learning the lessons a young man must learn.
Just as You are well-pleased with Your Son, so let me be well-pleased with mine.
